Two lightships

I read on the web
there are fifteen of them left
quiet flares at a range
amidst the sirens' tales
unsung
their ache for the foggy twin
on self-inflicted schedules
not to become one

what is on a destination
when the miraculous traffic
that pulled a hap out of a system
allows a stop
and for a brief suspension of the wake
they touch
only for their captains to command
and their definition to take over

they won't dismantle their lights
to frame a catamaran plain
and lose recall of the sting
that so dearly
flashed both
they must anchor on the lone
to perform

The End
