Twisted Little Creature
You twisted little creature...
Found you lurking in a quiet corner of my mind
How many years had you been waiting there
Just waiting to be set free?
You were so different, so foreign
Tantalizing in that exotic dangerous way
You grabbed my hands
Pulled me down into your embrace
Whispering tales of love and valor in my innocent ears
It amazes me how you held me tight
And how I would stay awake with you all night
Bitter tears ran down my face
As you extorted every terrible emotion man is capable of
The world outside ceased to exist
As I fell further into your claws
You pretended to be my friend
But all you really wanted was to bring me down
You twisted little creature,
I think I'll call you angst.
