day twenty

Date: 20-01-2016

Her name was Melody.
A quiet, blooming beauty
She sang of the stars

Of the worlds beyond our horizon
We would listen,
In a captivated trance
Hoping for her words to be truths
That unlock the secrets

To our better existence
For she sang songs
With confidence and poise
And we never once doubted her
Or the life in her eyes

But the world did not allow
for the spark of an everlasting flame
Her blessing transformed curse
Her songs; muted and grayed
Why would they believe
In anything more than what existed

Today will suffice
Tomorrow we'll settle
and the Melody of the future
shall die with a young girl's
whispered Sonata.

The End
