The light: sun, smiles, truth,
But I just see exposure;
Explicit, naked, violated,
Wrapping my arms across my body in protection,
Hiding, obscuring, shadowing,
But the blemishes shine through.
I step out the door with failure on my lips,
I cannot speak,
I will not see,
I will smash the silvery glass that reflects my monstrosity.
The night hugs me light a blanket,
My eyelids relax,
I take a peak - see nothing.
Relief cascades across me,
Here I am invisible,
The only appearance I can bear to behold.
