Smile upon them.....

Recommend

Even after death, they are still there.
In the light, the dark
The fire, the air
The songs of the lark

Yet we weep
For those who we may not see
For those who would rather keep
But we may know their spirts free

They watch from above
As their honor is bestowed
Upon the ones who we love
As their bravery is showed

So do not sit and weep
But stand proud
For they did not die to haunt your sleep
But died for those they vowed

(death is hard, and we must keep their memory alive through, not tears of sadness, but smiles of how proud we are. It's ok to be sad but times call for US to be brave and love those then and now)

Amelia-A This is a collaborative thingy-magigy where i thought everyone interested in poetry, or just wanting to give it a go could write a rememberance day poem. It doesnt matter if you are absolutely rubbish or studying shakespere at uni, just give it a go. It can be short or long, whatever, as long as it has something to do with rememberance day. I just thought it would be a great way to show our respect to those who died to keep our contries free. (im english, so mine is focoused around england, but you can write about any country you live in/come from, just dont be offensive)
