Just take a moment

From the Crusades to Afgahnistan,

and all around the world,

they sacreficed their lives,

for what they thought right.

Just take a moment,

to remember them all.

The innocet children,

in their pursuit of god,

brutally  torn apart,

along with their mothers' hearts.

Just take a moment,

to remember them all.

The men sent to the trenches,

now alone in the soil,

amoungst the poppies

of flander's feild.

Just take a moment,

to remember them all.

The veterans who remain,

imprisoned by thir own minds,

tortured by their memories,

waiting for death to set them free.

Just take a moment,

to remember them all.

The women left behind,

the familys and friends,

desperate for the men to return,

dreading that fateful telegram.

Just take a moment,

to remember them all.

The children, evacuted,

sent away, alone,

longing for the comfort of their mother's arms,

only to find themselves orphaned.

Just take a moment,

to remember them all.

The soldiers out there now,

risking their lives,

in the battle to protect the innocent,

in the name of queen and country.

Just take a moment,

to thank them.

The End
