We Are the Living

We are the living,

We are the dead.

We are the breathing,

We are the bled.

We are the young,

We are the old.

We are the warm,

We are the cold.

We are the gravestones, lined side by side,

We are the lists with which you abide.

We are the red flowers, which are forever,

We aren't the forgotten, forgotten never.

We are your scars, your losses in full,

We are your sons and husbands and dads.

We are your soldiers who fought in the wars,

We are your past, we are your present, we will be your future.

The End
