How Can We Know

How can we know, the terrors they saw
The pain they felt, when they hit the floor
The stench of death lingering in the air
Where they fell, the dead lay there
The fear they felt as the wars went on
And soon they know, they'll be gone
But still they carry on, still they fight
Through the day and through the night
We will not forget you, our soldiers gone
Still you fought, still you carried on

How can we know the terrors they saw
The pain they felt as they hit the floor
The stench of death, lingering in the air

Where they fell, the dead lay there

The End
