To past years

The teenage years so full of angst
But my folly did pay the price
from all things good alienated
and given to all forms of vice

Transition to adulthood so hastened
unprepared for this world of pain
forgotten were the lessons of childhood
alas the innocence never regained

Now that wisdom has finally anointed
wishing fervently that I could repair
and for so many moments go back in time
with myself future consequences share

The End
