To My Niece
I wrote this for my newborn niece. She is the first of course and I just adore her already. During the whole pregnancy her parents called her Baby Dragon...not sure why, but that's what she's been for the last 9 months.
Baby, you were the first
The start of a new chapter
The beautiful addition to the family
Our long awaited arrival.
There is no one that can replace you
That can replace that spot in our hearts
Just looking at you makes everyone love you
Every little perfect part of you.
You've hardly opened your eyes
To see the world ahead of you
To see the faces of the many hearts you've captured
You're the daughter
The grand-daughter, the niece, the cousin
You're the start of it all Baby Dragon.
