Thunderstorm at 5,000 Leagues

The sky is falling!

The hail of shattered glass
Rains upon me
Instead of standing
Between me and the ocean above.

The sky dumps its endless waves
Upon me as I flail
And fail to swim in its endless blue
That encompasses my form.

Flashes of electric light
Shock through what is no longer air
And everything shakes with the roar
Of the world exploding around me.

The darkness of night
And the warmth of numbness in icy water
Steal me away from my submarine.
It once was my watery home--
--Forever my watery grave.

The End
