Through Artists' Eyes
Looking at the world through artists’ eyes,
Each whole broken down into
A myriad of shapes.
Every color enhanced, every line boldened.
All is viewed from every possible angle
From the eyes within,
Analyzing, critiquing and re-creating,
Perhaps to be a muse or merely to amuse.
Looking at the world through artists’ eyes,
Caressing every object with gentle fingertips,
Memorizing intricate texture and design to
Create touch through line.
The watercolor strokes of a cloudy day
Contrast bold branches that house a vivid cardinal,
Cordially speaking.
Glass reflects a backwards world
Not unlike that of the distorting water’s surface
Bouncing back images of what we do and do not understand.
Looking at the world through artists’ eyes,
Hands are the most important feature,
Sculpting, drawing, painting,
Capturing the sheer essence of beauty,
Living through a dead piece of art.
Looking at the world through artists’ eyes,
A lone object becomes a subject,
A scene a composition,
Changing and growing to the artist’s will
Manipulated to create perfect form.
Looking at the world through artists’ eyes
Everything that seems ordinary becomes
Extraordinary.
