Thoughts While You're Sleeping Beside Me

When you leave, can I come visit you?
How far can I push your boundaries?
Push you away from me is what I’ll do,
Is what I should do but
You are much too wonderful.
I’m infinitely envious of the next person to
Experience the emotion in your lips and
Find comfort lingering in the scent of your hair
In those early morning hours.

I hope in earnest you’ll never forget me.
But my entire being isn't nearly as
Remarkable as the sound of your voice,
Echoing in my mind for years to come.

The End
