Those were the days

While listening to some forgotten bars of music
was transported to the memory of a lifetime
to the ghosts of comrades now lost to me
and where sitting idle was our only crime

In the pursuit of life eternal
somewhere along I had lost my way
from some dusty corner came out  those memories
whilst this music so serenely played

As the song finished its soulful tune
I wiped away so many a tear
and mourned the loss of one's innocence
amongst the graveyard of my lonely years

The End
