This Space for Rent

You were never going to meet me
only the rain can bring you forth
As long as you have my self-respect
you don’t want me

There’s a hole where my heart used to be
I let you walk into my life
and you took everything I had
even the foundations that kept me alive

Now all of my wishes are spent
Hope you enjoy watching my descent
Because I know you meant
every last insult
every last insult yeah
You never once felt remorse
I had it all
Now all of my wishes are spent
I look at my empty life and see this space for rent

Perhaps I was caught in the middle
of your treachery though not for the first time
I’m too young to be feeling this way
and I’m too old to be repeating the same mistakes

Now all of my wishes are spent
Hope you enjoy watching my descent
Because I know you meant
every last insult
every last insult yeah
You never once felt remorse
I had it all
Now all of my wishes are spent
I look at my empty life and see this space for rent

This space for rent
This space for rent
I am a failure to you
I am spent

The End
