These Living Nightmares

Oh so tired.....

Snap out of it.

Keep your eyes awake!

Slowly giving way to sleep.

Yearning for deep darkness.

Welcoming.

Entangling.

These dreams that follow will forsake your slumber.

Eyes flutter beneath closed lids.

Breathing quickens. 

Tears form around your eyes, wetting your cheeks. 

Sobs in the night, unaware of the broken mask. 

Screams pierce the nightime stillness.

Looking 'round, calming down.

It was only a dream they say.

None of it was real.

But it seemed so real! 

The people, the places, the feelings.....

Heart leaps.

The feelings that I have! 

They are here once again!

Rescue me from this living nightmare!

The continuous dream like state!

Save me from myself!

I will never sleep again.

Until eternal sleep overtakes me.

If I sleep.....

They will find me.

They will try to take my soul.

But I won't let them. 

I refuse to let the darkness win.

Light......

Fill my heart. 

Shine through the crevices of my very being. 

Save me from losing myself.
