These Fears

When something traumatic happens to a person, estranging them from the people they love

Today I found myself soaring/

The world is distorting/

Changing my point of view/

Today I found myself changing/

I became estranged/

Distant from the love I shared with you

These dark, hardening fears/

Sleeping, dormant through the years/

Come flooding out of the tears/

My darkest times come as dawn nears

Now I find myself crashing/

These tides are thrashing/

Casting me far from view/

Tonight I lose you now/

It’s become too late now/

Cracks of dark appear in the light

These dark, hardening fears/

Sleeping, dormant through the years/

Come flooding out of the tears/

My darkest times come as dawn nears

You’re still with me, near/

But still I’m feeling torn/

Fires blaze all around me here/

This darkness is from me born

These dark, hardening fears/

Sleeping, dormant through the years/

Come flooding out of the tears/

My darkest times come as dawn nears

The End
