The Wound That Never Heals

Then you finally kept to your word
You disappeared for the final time
You have everything now
most of all, I am out of your life

I am punch-drunk this miserable evening
I don’t mourn your sudden departure
Just wish your old self remained
because who you are now...

Makes me regret having ever met you

It’s the wound that never heals
Never heals
Never heals
It’s the wound that never heals
I feel it
I am sure you feel it too

You wanted more than you could handle
I couldn’t even pretend to understand
I wasn’t going to be your rainy day
because you had your time in the sun

You are pulling the guilt trip again
and thankfully I am oblivious
I never fall for that trick anymore
last time it cost me my heart

It’s the wound that never heals
Never heals
Never heals
It’s the wound that never heals
I feel it
I am sure you feel it too

Even so
it doesn’t justify what you have done
Just let me crawl into the shade
into another life
I’ll leave you to yours

The End
