The World

The world is a beautiful place

Beautiful, but painful

For one never does know

What one will find

In a place like this.

The sun sets to a ceaseless night

Walls fall before nations

Dreams crumble before the ambitious

If at first you don’t succeed

Don’t bother.

The world is a beautiful place

Beautiful, but cruel

For distance is a vile creature

An immense monstrosity

Capable of undoing beauty.

It is callous

It is desolate

It is dejected

It is difficult

It is loathsome.

The world is a beautiful place

Beautiful, but fragile

For one never does know

What will happen in time

When civilization fails.

Trees are vanishing

Animals are fading

Everything is weakening

And little is being done

To undo what has been done.

The world is a beautiful place

Beautiful, but venomous

For the most convivial moments

In life can often become

The most poisonous.

It is contagious

It is incessant

It is irrepressible

It is infectious

It is deadly.

The world is

A beautiful

Place.

The End
