The Word

They whisper

They watch

They listen, as they are taught.

They eye us

And buy us

And use us like pawns.

They write us

They hide us

We are the link between thoughts.

Do you know me?

I'm in your past

And your present

And your future is mine.

I put the hope, in hopeless

And the I in Lies.

You read me.

You write me.

You scrawl my body on parchment and throw it away.

I'm your thoughts

I'm lost

But found.

I am what you need.

I am what you want.

I'm the story

And the narrator,

The antagonist

And the protagonist.

I'm the writer and the reader,

I am the word.

The End
