The Woes Of An Insomniac

Stir with a wake

into the gazing night

the feeling of being called

still lingering in your mind

Unable to return

to the haven of your thoughts

no way to see reason

beneath your closed eyes

the taste of sleep

fresh on your tongue

so close

yet so far away

Your body begs to rest

Yet your mind refuses to listen

as the shadows fade from your mind

and life pours in your limbs

nothing else to do

and with frustration

you roll out of bed, seeking

something to occupy your time

until the dawn kisses the sky

and the rest of the world will awake

in normality

The End
