The Water

The icy water rolls onto the pavement at a snail's pace. The sky around you becomes foggy as you drift across these deserted waters. In the far distance there are buildings that mask the horizon. What once might have been a sparkling city, is now lifeless, motionless.
If you were to just stop and consider what once might have stood on this vast landscape of horror and fear then maybe, you would have the strength to turn back.
Pain and sorrow fill the atmosphere as the deathly silence sends a cold chill down your spine.
The frosty air wraps your body like a blanket. The water is a monster, swallowing the city bit by bit and it won't be much longer until there's nothing left except you and the water."
