The Tundra

Take it however you want. It's my first try at "abstract" poetry. Well, attempting to use a storyline with a hidden deeper meaning. Good luck finding it, I'm still not sure :p

Across the snowy Tundra

Not another man to see.

On the empty, flat tundra

There is only me.

I walk a mile a day

Across the treacherous Tundra.

There is nothing to do or say

But walk across the lonesome Tundra.

There is little light

Only this dark expansive Tundra.

It is only night

For me on the ruling Tundra

As that is when there is only me

In this thoughtless Tundra.

That is when I am freed

Of this entraping Tundra.

At night is when I dream I can fly.

At night is when there is light in my sky.

At night there is a world of which I can take part.

But I know it is not real, only in my heart.

For in reality it is dark

In the unforgiving Tundra.

My feet leave little mark

In the uncaring Tundra.

So I will walk a mile a day

Across the treacherous Tundra.

Nothing else I will do or say

But walk across the Tundra.

And at night I will fly

If only in my dreams.

I will leave this forsaken Tundra

But only in my dreams.

The End
