The Wizard and the Prophecy

Now, dear reader, I must diverge,
And share with you some lore,
Of an ancient mystic's prophecy,
Foretold centuries before.

It told of a tree, a great, wise oak,
Where Earth becomes the sky,
Marked by a thorn within a thorn,
Possessed of power not described.

And so while Charity, the girl with the tree,
Watched her threatened oak, forlorn,
A man was fast approaching Dree,
And the little town of Thorn.

The man was a wizard, clever and evil,
Who knew of the prophecy,
And he was determined to claim the power,
Of the legendary tree.
