Grey Goo

He opened up a window
And with tears in his eyes
Cast away his children
To live up in the sky.
They ate up all the clouds
And stole away the rain,
And when men tried to kill them,
He made them once again.

And now the sun beats down
On an arid, baking land,
And he loves his nanobot children
Though this isn't what he'd planned.

They learned to learn,
And they learned what they could eat,
And soon they were digesting
Everything they'd meet.
They never stop secreting,
An antiseptic goo,
That's grey and slightly icky,
And all that's left of you.

The End
