The Sea & The Trees

Trying to convince someone why life is worth living, and what you should live for

I tell him what's the point of it all

Of being strong and standing tall

He says he's in love with the blue skies and the sea

He says that he's always been in love with me

I know he means well

But this place feels like hell

I want to spread my wings and just fly away

I'm tired of struggling endlessly through the day

Because the sun and the sky are worth it all

The sea and the trees are worth living for

The easy times and the girl next door

Baby, look around, pick another thing to stay awake for

I say to her I think that you're wrong

Listen to the breeze and the birdsong

I've always adored life, though we live it at a blur

I've always adored love, and oh how I adore her

I know that I try my best

I tell her to give these struggles a rest

She wants to spread her wings and fly away

But I can think of a million reasons why she should stay

Because the sun and the sky are worth it all

The sea and the trees are worth living for

The easy times and the girl next door

Baby, look around, pick another thing to stay awake for

The End
