The Rush of Battle

It's about when all things are said and done, humans are no different from animals when it comes to conflict. It's also about how adrenaline can take over and refuse to let go

My vision blurs, whirling into grey

And I'm clawed into death's icy embrace

They bled me dry, took it all away

Only now can I feel my heart beat race

Pretensions stripped away and everything is primitive

Adrenaline rush and my breathing is restricted

The stemming of blood flowing as a tide

Pale white does not justify the pain inside

Suffocate, feel the rush of death call

Resonate, watch your empire fall

No matter where you go

It will devour, it will destroy

My sight is fading, all I see is white

A flashbang grenade across my mind's eye

I'm locked in my anger, feeling regret

Punishing and tearing me to shreds

Illusions snatched from before your eyes, awaken

Finding everything you ever believed shaken

The darkness seizes control, taking me for a ride

It seems to me, there's no escape this time

Suffocate, feel the rush of death call

Resonate, watch your empire fall

No matter where you go

It will devour, it will destroy

Now where will you go?

Head first to battle, or to surrender's touch

Now where will you go?

Too late to run, fate has arrived

The End
