The Road

This is an excerpt from my novel The Greenhorn. I named it The Road because it is about the journey of life, the paths we take and the people we meet. It is about every person's individual journey, and how it can be intertwined with so many others. We all wander and sometimes fear where our road will take us but I believe it will take us wherever we want it to (even if we do not know where that is yet). Our time together always seems too short, but maybe that is what makes it so precious. When i

Onwards we may walk

Together and apart

Wandering or lost

til all roads fade to dark

Together for a day

A gasping breath in time

Forever you remain

An echo in my mind

Apart for eternity

I hope we meet again

A moment is a lifetime

A joy we all defend

Wandering the world

The stars my only guide

Waiting for the day

When all my fears subside

Lost but not astray

Now there is no road

Far enough to take me

Where I'm meant to go

Onwards we may walk

Together and apart

Wandering or lost

til all roads fade to dark

The End
