The Red Pen
Oh, the Red Pen is more more than is seems.
The Red Pen is a symbol of hurt,
Of pain.
The Red Pen is a weapon
It lacerates you
With undiscriminating fervor.
It could be you
Me
And anybody you know
The truth is
Nobody is safe from the Red Pen
The symbol
And the weapon.
And the worst thing about the Red Pen
Or, the worst thing about us,
Is that any of us could be the Red Pen.
We simply don't know until it happens.
The Red Pen is you.
And it's me right now.
