So when I walked home today

In the rain

I felt strangely happy.

And I realized

I loved walking in the rain.

Creepy, right?

But I love the drops of water

On my face

The sound of my untied shoelaces

Slapping the wet ground

The smell of the refreshed grass

And how there isn't a sound

Other than my slapping shoelaces

The dripping drops

And my slow sighs.

And when I came home

I felt like slamming my head on a dictionary

Because I realized

Procrastination gets you nowhere

And that I had two assignments due tomorrow.

But it's all cool and worked out

Because that's how I

The poet


And I think that last statement

Made me seem

Way cooler

Than my funny, geeky self.
