The Path to Glory

One persons struggle with their conscience

Looking down the hole of your future

Explosions and blood, the path of glory

You could write your name in history

But hesistation will be your undoing

Staring into the abyss, you wonder

As the world around booms louder than thunder

Can I do this, can I endure

A life tainted with blood, so impure

The cruelty and pain, the utter calamity

Bringing death in coded words and strategy

Looking out into the firefight

Pondering why my existence is a cataclysm

Why my mind is of two paths like a schism

As I pull the trigger like an angel of death again

Staring into the abyss, you wonder

As the world around booms louder than thunder

Can I do this, can I endure

A life tainted with blood, so impure

The cruelty and pain, the utter calamity

Bringing death in coded words and strategy

Never be hurt again, rest in sweet eternal peace

As I battle on in the unforgiving heat

I drag myself back to the fight as I bleed

My bloodlust spikes, unrelenting is the urge to feed

I battle on, heart beats with a dark urgency

Cold and calculated, I attack like an insurgency

And years later, karma will be cruel and turn on me

Open my eyes to what I refuse to see

Staring into the abyss, you wonder

As the world around booms louder than thunder

Can I do this, can I endure

A life tainted with blood, so impure

The cruelty and pain, the utter calamity

Bringing death in coded words and strategy

The End
