The Parade (Hearts Made From Clay)
If only you knew how I loved you
If I could let go of the past I would
Though many years went by, it refused to die
I wonder if you still feel like I do
I fell aside, looking back to yesterday
I ponder and dream, of seeing your beautiful face
My heart, once nothing but made of clay
Kicked into life by your laugh, your smile eased me
Do you ever recall those easy days
Naive and innocent, life was just an easy parade
I stared into your eyes, but I missed my turn
I wonder what the reasons were, will I ever learn
These days I'm broke and unhappy with my fate
But I know the chance has come far too late
You've been happier with better people than me
You've been in the company, of greater people than me
I looked back to when we ran
Through this sleeping town, easy and laughing
As we held each others hands
There was nothing we couldn't do
Do you ever recall those easy days
Naive and innocent, life was just an easy parade
I stared into your eyes, but I missed my turn
I wonder what the reasons were, will I ever learn
Well, here comes the future and it's miserable
A light in my heart, ebbing and turning dull
How I look back to those easy days
It's hard to feel, when my heart's made of clay
Do you ever recall those easy days
Naive and innocent, life was just an easy parade
I stared into your eyes, but I missed my turn
I wonder what the reasons were, will I ever learn
