The Nothing

This is for my friend who recently lost the most important person in her life. Feel free to add pages.

It fills the air

a weary calm,

making labored breaths

an instant bond.

A depthless night

inside their hearts

that they wear on sleeves

to do no wrong.

The darkest days make for lighter  nights,

in the light we can see,

but darkness blinds.

And so we fight

to stay alive

and avoid the Nothing

in which time bides.

The End
