the nocturnal-coated thing

Conceiver of the disillusioned

and marionette of your own emotion,

all brief wiry hair and a golden curl.

Weeping in hallways for lizard-tongued girl.

Bite your thumb, boy, gnaw away

at flesh, vein and nail. Hitch-hiker,

deserter, nocturnal-coated thing.

Left second finger, the darkness as a ring.

I once bayed at your feet with pig's tails

and spaniel eyes, you masochist, coward.

Love me not in yellow rose petals, and forget.

You won't remember the words of our whimpered duet.

The End
