The Nature Of Betrayal

As the title suggests, it's about how people are given to destroy friendships for a variety of reasons

And I march into darkness
I’ve put my demons in the daylight
You tried to destroy me in plain sight
And when the dust has settled
You’ll attempt to shoot me in the back

You said I betrayed you, and I have fallen to nothing
Respect and treachery can run in two directions
For the final time I’ll amputate this fetid connection

The sun will rise for me again
But the darkness will poison you
The ghosts will come to bury you
And insanity will be quick to consume

I never expected anything less
Because I know even the oldest of friends
Will take their silver pieces in the end
And now that the dust has settled
Don’t ever expect me to come back

All of us look upon you in disgust, what have you become
You’ve let yourself become what you hate, a monster
The hunt for a crown has bloodied your conscience

The sun will rise for me again
But the darkness will poison you
The ghosts will come to bury you
And insanity will be quick to consume

You’re not a victim
Heaven is shut off from you
The end for you is coming soon

The sun will rise for me again
But the darkness will poison you
The ghosts will come to bury you
And insanity will be quick to consume

The End
