The Morning After

Originally two separate poems detailing a night in the life of one disturbed individual. With some playing around I realized it works better when the two poems are combined

Sunlight cracks the skull,

a hangover from hell.

Submerged in a puddle of blood,

the corpse ravaged, rancid.

Last night a first step,

down a stairway of madness.

Bits of flesh cling to the palate,

Her soul struggling to escape.

A night of debauchery

filled with ecstasy.

Returns with force,

kicking itself up my gullet,

erupting from every orifice.

The End
