The Man You Became

I wrote this for my Grandfather who passed away due to cancer. It was featured on the Funeral Service card.

Here you are in our dreams
remembered as healthy and strong.
Encouraging love you’ve always shown
helping us to move on.

A courageous battle did you fight
as dying dreams were whisked away.
Ceaselessly strong, you remain
in our hearts you’ll always stay.

A husband, father, grandpa, and brother
we’re proud of your beautiful soul.
Cherished moments will forever last
as your life finally became whole.

It is not goodbye in the end.
It’s only so long, until we meet again.
