The Lock On My Heart

I don't know how you think it should be
And I'm not really sure what you expect from me
But I can't live and love with uncertainty
I think it's best my love that I set you free

So I'm changing the lock on my heart
'Cause I think it's time I made a new start
I never thought we'd ever be apart
But you returned the key to my heart

Now I loved you baby so unconditionally
But that was not the love that you had for me
I loved you so much, I could not believe
But now our love's just a memory

So I've changed the lock on my heart
And now it opens with a new key
Now I have the master and the spare
And they're both gonna stay right here with me

You had your set, you had your chance
To prove your love to me
But you gave them back when you walked out
And you no longer hold the key

Now don't come knockin' in the middle of the night
Looking for love, or to make things right
'Cause my heart is closed, and it's locked real tight
And no one's home, I've turned out the lights

So I've changed the lock
But your love will still linger inside
Yeah I changed the lock
'Cause you turned your back, so step aside
Now I've changed the lock
You made your choice when you said good-bye

The End
