the girl who lost her heart

when I was younger

I was filled with wonder-

Traipsing about in my fantasy

But when I grew old

I was pushed down and told

To submit to reality.

The wonder, it died,

And where my heart lied,

A shriveled little thing remained

It brings me no joy, it brings me no light

Simply agony and pain.

The End
