The Girl That Went Away

The sorrow of losing someone who meant the world to you.

Broken mirrors, sharp truth

Her eyes like deep wells of brown;

Black veils untraced

Her hair falling ,

flowers of summer gone;

Tangled in her smile

Innocence like a child,

Forever I’d sit and watch;

And sleep in her sweet embrace,

Till eternity take my fall;

But then she went away

A shadow took her place,

Of old guilt and shame

She was never the same;

Now I look far and below

Where my love did go,

But to look and not to find

Is my ugly fate defined;

So now I’ll burn in this fire blind

And hope will find her on the other side.

The End
