The Egotist's Prayer

For Those Who Are Lost, I am with you.

I believe in Him yet suffering self defeat

Lost, my heart drifting on bitter seas

Yet there’s a saint amongst the deep

Calling out the way I ought to be

Winds glide across my face

The air teases my lungs

My belief shaken by those crushing souls cover my lonely heart

Come with me and see the key

To living life Eternally in beauty’s gloom

The good in me encompassed by the child within

Her cruel heart made me forget who I was to Him

Home inside, I’m lost but alive

Mortal heart longing for more

Than to be enslaved forever in this toil

Hated for who I am

This egotist lives again

The kindest heart made me believe

What I always knew to be

Can we love a soul that’s lost and forlorn

The silent hideway for love unknown

A candle lit for her return

For my fate is tied with thee

Lost girl come over to me

And show me what in life there is to see

His mercy comes when He decrees

These egoists want all they need

I believe in Him yet suffering self defeat

Lost, my heart drifting on bitter seas

Yet there’s a saint amongst the deep

Calling out the way I ought to be

In classes I don’t see the reason I followed His voice that rang true to me

The plan is shaded by doubt and pain

Cannot this devote man be free from suffering in the rain?

I don’t know what to say

This poem is dedicated to you, stranger, anyway

Drowning in fire

Burning with water

I will follow His plan to the end.

I believe in Him yet suffering self defeat

Lost, my heart drifting on bitter seas

Yet there’s a saint amongst the deep

Calling out the way I ought to be

The End
