The Earth Turns Again

The Earth
turns again
to face
the Sun

Sun scans
the lay
of the land

Inside buildings
the walls
down to
the floor

The Earth
tucks and rolls

The Sun
continues
to its apex
feeling
the curve
of the compacted
material
slowly morphing itself
into a distant future

The Sun
does not
keep a permanent
record of
its survey
only an element
contributing to
our chronological
story

On its way
out of sight
the Sun
continues its
run East
elongating
perception
signaling a shift
in action
going both directions
day on decline
rising to produce
existence continuance
