Spotting the DifferenceMature

One thing I've learned
through my time here on earth
is that time is perspective
and history has a tendency
to repeat itself-

Almost like the people
who only speak because they
love the sound of their own voice,
history plays over and over,
casually tooting its own horn
"silly humans", I picture history saying,
"Can you not spot the age-old cycle?"

Sometimes I feel like time
and past laugh
at the soap opera-esque appearance
of our finite little lives-
they are infinite in existence,
the most influential authors
of the universe-
and I think that they have learned to spot
the changes
and that is how they continue to thrive
while we live our pointless lives,
and penultimately,
die.

The End
