The Dancing Flames.

Like the flames we dance to a short lived glory and an irreversible downfall.

Between the fire and smoke
lies that moment of burning.
That suspension of colour
of a sight quickly turning.

The moment of brilliancy
with the fire un-felt.
The dancing flames
the heat has yet to melt.
The glide across their stages
they flicker up and down.
The dance like entranced sages
as they lose their crown.

The End
