If I told you

If I told you,

That everything you ever said,

Was counted,

Was weighed up,

Was taken into account

And held responsible

For your punishment,

Or your reward;

Would your words be kind?

Would the pain-lust stop?

If I told you,

That every action

Every touch, every deed,

Was remembered forever,

Would affect how you sleep at night,

How you view one man to another;

Would you stop?

Would you calm,

and listen?

If I told you,

That every thought,

Every curse uttered,

Was what made you

Who you were;

Would you weep?

Would you turn and apologise?

I don't think so.

The End
