Chapter 12Mature

There was no time to mourn
The Lost Ones were already on us
And in a single moment
My mind broke out of its calamity
And back to my purpose

Her feet filled the prints I left
And mine took all the dirt with it
The Others followed a similar path

The sun was directly above us
My lungs begged for air
My chest begged for forgiveness
But my heart was ruthless

The tall leaves vanished and the green path ended
as we stumbled upon The Fallen City
The skyscrapers slanted
covered in vines
and echoes came from the scattered murky waters
and its inhabitants

Weariness pounded
But the boulders kept me honest

The End
