Carnival of Light

Recommend

Your hand is a prism

You hold it up high

Blinding my sleep filled eyes

It's morning

It's our carnival of light

You tell me not to sleep it all away

I groan in reply

but I'll get up if you only pull the blankets away

and then take their place...

Place your palm on my palm

Until all the shadows are banished from my skin

Bathed in white and yellow light

Like we were people from the sun

And the best part is it's just beginning...

The day is ours

Ours to feast upton

And to fill our senses

Oh Carnival of light what do you have to offer me today?

Author guidance for This poem

Eloosive Similar idea to the Bond poems - use the title of any Beatles song as the topic of your poem. The title, not the song. Ridiculously long list here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:The_Beatles_songs Unlike the Bond poems I will not be listing the ones already done in the guidance - I don't care how nicely you ask me to Kev. There are more than 250 of them! Just go to the last post and make use of that handy 'Show all previous branches' button that Nick so kindly provided if you want to see which titles have been done.
