Across the Universe

Bare beach,
and life fills my senses.
Longing and inspiration
grapple for control.
Dreams shift.
Night lingers on.

Eyes close.
Forever feels like this.
An infinity stretches out
beyond the shore
of this mirrored night sky.
Galaxies form
in this reflection.

All I have to do
to flit across the universe
is dip my toes into this
ebbing night sky.

Perhaps there never were
starcrossed intentions,
but this vast, starry pool settles in
between continents,
threading dreamers like us
together like beads on a necklace.

Like stars
in sweeping constellation.

The End
