That Summer Day

Cool water slides down the side of my frosted glass from the heat

Summer

Lemonade fills the glass to the brim and the Sun shines happily

Summer

My feet fly across the field out back, springing over fresh greens

Summer

Hand in hand we sprint towards the glassy lake of dreams

Summer

Full speed we run with the wind hurrying us along

Summer

Daisys greet the Sun with their faces and dance happily

Summer

Reaching the pebble rich shore we stop and gaze out

Summer

Breathing in the sweet air of warmth, innocence and youth

Summer

Swimming in crisp water with him, playing games

Summer

Heart leaping and bounding inside my body with joy

Summer

Racing out of the water towards home, a contest

Summer

Realizing that he did not follow and is missing

Fall

Turning to see his body floating face down

Fall

Frantically swimming to him, my love

Fall

Reaching and holding him while sobbing in anguish at my loss

Winter

Screaming frantically for help and some salvation from this nightmare

Winter

The Sun retreating as he grabs my arm and drags me down to his watery relm

Winter

Together forever under the lake of glassy dreams

My End

The End
