Taking One for the Team

They say I am taking one for the team.

But when have I been a part of the team?

When do I get a say in this?

That’s the problem

I don’t

I’m just a person on their team

Following their rules

And behaviors

None of them truly care about me

If they did

They would understand

They would let me speak

Have a voice

But they don’t

I’m just a person on their team

Following what they say

And doing the motions

Sometimes I wish I could leave

Not say a word

And go

Like they would care

Or else they would have asked for my opinion

But I am just a person on their team

And they expect that I’ll just put up with it

That I’ll take one for the team

Well I’m tired of this

Thinking that they have this much control over me

Thinking that I don’t care to them

And that I’m just a person on their team

News flash!

I’m my own person

And I’m on my own team!

The End
